Daniel Carlton
Financial Analyst
Vaquero Private Wealth
"Goldman Sachs-trained. Analytically relentless. The engine behind every portfolio."
daniel.carlton@vaquerowealth.comBiography
Most financial analysts learn their craft at a regional bank or a mid-size advisory firm. Daniel Carlton learned his at Goldman Sachs.
Before joining Vaquero Private Wealth in 2022, Daniel worked in Goldman Sachs' Global Markets Division — the institutional engine of one of the most selective and demanding financial institutions in the world. Goldman's Global Markets business operates at the center of global financial markets, serving the world's leading asset managers, hedge funds, banks, pensions, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds. Within that division, Daniel worked directly with institutional clients and hedge funds to streamline efficiencies across Goldman's Fixed Income sales business — work that required analytical precision, an understanding of complex financial instruments, and the ability to operate at institutional speed.
It is an unusual foundation for a wealth management career — and that is precisely the point. Daniel brings an institutional lens to everything he does at Vaquero: investment analysis, trading execution, performance reporting, and financial planning. He understands how markets actually work — not from a textbook, but from having operated inside the machinery of one of the world's most sophisticated trading floors.

Role at Vaquero
The Analytical
Engine
At Vaquero, Daniel is responsible for the analytical and operational infrastructure that supports every client portfolio. He conducts investment research, executes trades, builds performance reports, and supports the firm's financial planning process.
His work is the connective tissue between strategy and execution — ensuring that every investment decision the team makes is informed by rigorous analysis and implemented with precision.
When an advisor constructs an individually tailored portfolio, Daniel is the one making sure the research is thorough, the trades are executed cleanly, and the reporting reflects exactly what happened and why.
